The Many Things of a Day
I have been reading, The Winter of Our Discontent, by John Steinbeck and came across a line from the book.  “A day, a livelong day, is not one thing but many.”  That one line, got my attention.  I started thinking about my days and how easy it is to get caught up in the one thing.  That one thing that wants to try and demand all of my attention.  How  easily I can lose sight of the many things.  One thing tries to capture me and the many things slip by faint and indiscriminately.   Today, I will attempt to focus on the many things and express myself through the many things that make up my livelong day.  One thing, not today!
